Paddle Wheel and Magnetic Meter Sensors
For ruggedness, simplicity and value paddle wheel and magnetic sensors ("magmeters") can't be beat. Their installation involves cutting pipe which, for some installations, may make ultrasound based instrumentation preferable. For all other installations a paddle wheel for clean fluid applications or a magmeter for debris laden fluids is likely to be the best tool for the price. All of these sensors can be connected to a Shark controller or Shark TX transmitter.
Paddle Wheel Sensors
Paddle wheel sensors are the low cost solution to accurate flow measurement. They can be used for any liquid that does not contain debris. Their simple and rugged construction result in years of trouble free service. They come as either fixed insertion models—the IP80 series—or, for mostly large pipes, variable insertion models—the IP100 series.

Magmeter Sensors
For liquids containing debris that can foul a paddle wheel sensor, magmeters are the ideal choice. They consist of no moving parts and, instead, use the conductivity of dissolved solids in the water to measure flow. They come as either fixed insertion models—the EX80 series—or, for mostly large pipes, variable insertion models—the EX100 series.
